We're excited to announce that our own Stephen Hayes has been selected as a 2026–2027 Senior Research Fellow with the Center for Offsite Construction (CfOC) at New York Institute of Technology.
The Senior Research Fellow title is awarded to a limited group of professionals and thought leaders who can think clearly, critique constructively, and help move the Center’s projects forward. For Stephen, the fellowship is an opportunity to apply his experience to one of the construction industry’s most important areas of evolution: offsite construction and the development of more standardized, configurable, and scalable approaches to building.
CfOC is focused on developing the shared infrastructure needed for industrialized construction to scale, including open standards, digital file formats, legal frameworks, education and accreditation, and workforce development.
As part of a multidisciplinary cohort spanning manufacturing, design, construction, policy, and education, Stephen will contribute to active research projects and collaborate with fellow leaders to turn ideas into practical advancements.
The emphasis on action is one of the things Stephen is most looking forward to: over the coming year, he hopes to help advance meaningful work around certification, accreditation, and workforce development while building stronger connections across the industry.
“Communities like the CfOC Fellows network help turn those conversations into action. Together, I hope we can bring together more pieces of the shared infrastructure required for industrialized construction to scale.”
